I am actually doing this . . . . starting a blog!!! This has been one of my goals for months and I am so excited to actually DO IT!! Facebook is a great place for me to share quick tips, ideas and even recipes but there is so much I want to share and I am excited to have a place to and I hope you get ideas, inspiration, motivation and information that can help you live a healthier life.
Okay, on to being prepared for the week!! Do you meal plan? How often have you looked at the clock at 5 pm and thought "oh my gosh, what I am going to make my family for dinner" or even better "why do they need to eat?!" Sunday morning I try and plan for the week - I plan out meals, do a quick shopping list and grocery run and also schedule in my workouts for that week. It adds a little bit of organization to my life which I need more of!! Plus my family eats better, I reduce those late afternoon runs to the grocery store, we save money in the long run and when dinner is all planned there is a much better chance we all sit down at the dinner table.
The other benefit of meal planning is variety. We are all creatures of habit and tend to eat the same way each week. When I plan out my meals for the week I always add in some new recipes and they either get added to the rotation or my family quickly nixes them and nicely tell me "you don't have to make this one again mom." Here's the other good news . . . my family eats healthier because I meal plan AND that's the best thing of all!!
I am starting week 2 of my newest 21 Day Fix group!! And this program is all about being prepared and planned for the week. Since it's all about learning portion control and eating a well balanced diet throughout the week it's so important to know what you are going to eat in advance. To many times we don't plan, come home, starving and grab whatever we can find and even it's a healthy choice it may not be the best choice. The 21 Day Fix makes this so SIMPLE and you aren't giving up any food group or eating anything wacky or unusual so it's just mapping out each day.
Here is a sneak peek of my meal plan for the week and this whole plan is 21 Day Fix Approved!! I typically drink my Shakeology in the morning however since I am doing the 21 Day Fix I have been saving it for lunch since to me it is such a treat!
My week actually starts on sunday because that's family dinner night so Carnitas are in the crockpot for tonight. I will be adding in that recipe as well as the others on this meal plan in the recipe tab for you to use.
Life is crazy and this one thing keeps me a little bit less crazy and helps keep me and my challengers on track. The 20 minutes it takes with a cup of coffee in hand to plan out a week's worth of meals is worth every second of the time I save during the week!
And the 21 Day Fix is just 21 days!!! There isn't much wiggle room but there isn't a lot needed. This program gives you a few treats or the occasional glass of wine BUT the bottom line is it's just 21 days of good, healthy food and if you are planned out you WILL succeed! Just look at this menu . . . this is a program that you can maintain and your family can enjoy and benefit as well.
This is a program that starts you on the path of a healthier lifestyle and the body you have always wanted . . . THE HEALTHY WAY!! My job is to provide you with the support, accountability, guidance and tips to start and finish the program with success!!!
