A Holiday Plan with Balance

So here's the thing I eat healthy BUT I am just like everyone else when it comes to enjoying holiday treats and good food.  Food is a unifying force during the holidays and I love cooking especially for a crowd so I am excited about the week ahead. The deal is finding a balance between enjoying the treats but not going over board.  Having a plan is key

Here's the thing I try to meal plan almost every week and this week is no exception.  The week it helps me stay organized with all that I am cooking and it really helps me stay on track with my own nutrition!

My goal for this week is to enjoy but not to overindulge.  To me there is nothing worse that that "yucky, OMG I can't believe I ate all that" feeling!  Let's face it the feeling that your pants are to tight is a pretty bad feeling.  I want to enjoy my family and friends, the food I am cooking and still feel good about me. The key is picking and choosing when and what you are going to enjoy.

So here is my plan:

• Continue drink Shakeology once a day because that helps with my sugar cravings plus it's one less meal I have to worry about.
• Christmas eve night and Christmas day are sort of free days.  I am not going to be do concerned with what I eat but more aware of portion sizes.
• Eat more veggies through the week and skip pastas, potatoes and extra carbs when possible.
• I love to bake cookies and breads so I am also baking some healthier treats to have on hand so I can enjoy without the guilt.  Click here for a healthier version of chocolate chip cookies.
• To enjoy a glass or two of wine but than switch it up to sparkling water . . . hangovers are not worth it!
• Get my workout done every morning and try getting in some good hikes and walks with family. That gives me some wiggle room and is the perfect start to the day.  And it reduces stress and increases energy.
• Drink lots of water throughout the day.  It helps keep you full and satisfied.
• Choose my treats wisely
• Have a plan for AFTER the holidays!!!!  I started Hammer and Chisel a few weeks ago and my plan is to continue with that program through Jan and Feb.  I have a new online fitness support and accountability group starting Jan 4!!  It's the perfect way to ensure you start your year off right!!!  Message me at marciadeangelis@sbcglobal.net or connect with me on Facebook at facebook.com/marciadriscolldeangelis

Here is my holiday plan, my free meals are highlighted.  You can enjoy the week and the goodies with out weight gain!!!  Happy Holidays and enjoy your family and friends.
